Resistance and Compliance System
Air hazard is a world issue, because it causes the respiratory diseases, such as asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). In respiratory disease research field, researchers focus on respiratory improvement, such as respiratory rate, tidal volume, airway resistance, and lung compliance.
The Resistance and Compliance system (RC system) in Taiwan Mouse Clinic is designed to measure the resistance and compliance of the lungs in mice. The mice will be deeply anesthetized and intubated by trachea, and then their pulmonary resistance and compliance parameters are measured by the RC system. The RC system also provides a heating function to ensure normal body temperature of the mice. The RC system also provides a nebulizer device that can directly stimulate the lungs with nebulized liquid.
