Press Release-- Evidence for The Involvement of ASIC3 in Sensory Mechanotransduction in Proprioceptors

The TMC program director, Dr. Chih-Cheng Chen, was invited to issue a press release related to "Evidence for the involvement of ASIC3 in sensory mechanotransduction in proprioceptors", in N136 meeting room at IBMS in Academic Sinica at 9:30am on May 31, 2016.

Dr. Chih-Cheng Chen was collaborative with University of Aberdeen, England, to find out that ASIC3 is a molecular determinant contributing to dynamic mechanosensitivity in proprioceptors. This conclusion is very helpful for the further studies of tumbles caused by aging or diseases. It also provides a new reference for basic research and strategies of developmental medical therapy. This article was just published on Nature Communications.
