In recent years, the route of aerosol administration is a hot topic, because drugs can pass the blood-brain barrier in aerosol way. In mice, the traditional nasal and/or tracheal administration are not effective ways to atomize the drug and these two administrations are not usual ways for human. Therefore, in animal study, how to effectively atomize liquid drugs is an important topic.
The DSI Nose-Only Inhalation Exposure System (Exposure System) in Taiwan Mouse Clinic, is equipped with an ultrasonic nebulizer which can quickly atomize liquid into gas form. The drying tube on Exposure System can reduce the humidity and increase the concentration of aerosol particles, and then making the drug more effectively absorbed by animals. The Exposure System includes the plethysmography, in/out gas concentration detection system (by photometer), a particle size analysis system, a particle size layered collection device, by pass device, and rat stage. This DSI Nose-Only Inhalation Exposure System provides a comprehensive nose-only aerosol administration for industry and academia research in Taiwan.
